Wikipedia is one of the most well known sites on the internet, and contains tons of information, be it anything related to humans and the current base of knowledge we possess. The site is fairly minimalistic, besides the fact that much of the screen is filled with information of all kinds where it is applicable. The simplicity of the site and what feels like boundless amounts of information are its strengths: People go to the site for information, and purely for information. I think it is a very well functioning site and serves it's purpose near perfectly.
